Fingals - Bed & Breakfast in Devon

Full of personality, occasionally chaotic, much-loved. Dine with fellow guests in a panelled dining room, then stay up chatting in the bar

Welcome to an institution from our first B&B book. We call it an 'institution' not because it has been going so long that some of the original guests' grandchildren now take their girlfriends, but because it has always been beyond categorisation. Richard and Sheila are moving back into their Queen Anne manor farmhouse and winding down – but as ever doing it their own way. Stay in a country house room, or self-cater in rooms nattily converted into apartments. The old laissez-faire atmosphere remains: honesty bar, wood-panelled dining room (dinner on occasion), grass court, pool and gym. Not your run-of-the-mill B&B… but nor are your hosts.

Guest feedback

"We spent a fabulous 2 nights here. We loved the casual atmosphere with dogs wandering freely (home from home!) and our room, the eco room facing the stream, was immaculate with everything we could possibly need to feel comfortable. Hosts were charming, and informative, fellow guests delightful and the food was out of this world!! Husband enjoyed the gym and swimming pool and I particularly appreciated the lovely late breakfasts."
